Halima Ashfaq combines goldwork and silk shading embroidery techniques with a deep commitment to her faith, creating pieces that serve as meaningful Islamic reminders within the home. Her practice is rooted in the Quranic understanding of the heart, exploring the ongoing journey toward Qalb Salim, a sound heart, through layered forms and varied goldwork techniques. The radiance of the goldwork surrounding the centre of her piece reflects how inner sincerity can manifest outwardly as beauty.

Talat Ahmed rediscovered art later in life, finding in it a way to reflect, remember, and connect. Her practice centres on Allah's names and attributes, and painting became a means of honouring her late mother while nurturing her own wellbeing. Her piece in this exhibition, Al-Baseer, reflects on the limits of her own sight alongside Allah's Name Al-Baseer, the All-Seeing and All-Noticing.

“Knowing we’re made from clay reminds me we’re all equal before Allah, it’s only our deeds that set us apart.” - Iram
British Pakistani Islamic calligraphy artist Iram explores faith through material and form, moving from biomedical sciences and medical writing back into a self-taught practice rooted in Qur’anic reflection.
Her work centres Islamic calligraphy, clay, and earthy materials to reflect on creation and return. In Islam Through My Eyes, she presents a ceramic vase inscribed with Qur’anic verses on human creation from clay, using circular composition to echo the cycle of life, death, and return to the earth.
The work holds space between identity, faith, and lived experience, opening reflection on tawhid, humility, and what it means to create as a Muslim artist in the West.
