About the Exhibition
Islam Through My Eyes brings together twenty two artworks by sixteen Muslim artists living in the West, exploring how faith shapes creativity, identity, and artistic practice. Through painting, calligraphy, textiles, photography, ceramics, and mixed media, the exhibition celebrates the richness and diversity of contemporary Islamic art.
Each artist offers a unique perspective while sharing a common thread: a creative practice rooted in faith, reflection, and lived experience.

About the Curators
Tayyibah Baz is a UK based watercolour artist and speaker working under the brand Tayyibah Baz The Artisan. Her work is rooted in Islamic knowledge and her identity as a Muslim, and her practice centres on Quranic and Hadith referenced imagery. She reframes art as a purposeful discipline rather than a hobby, addressing the fear of pursuing it with value, grounded in the belief that artistic talent is given by Allah with purpose. Islam Through My Eyes is her first curatorial project, opening conversations around Islam and art for Muslim artists.
Nuhr Studio is a creative hub and content studio on Manningham Lane, Bradford, hosting events and community gatherings centred on sisterhood and connection.

“Knowing we’re made from clay reminds me we’re all equal before Allah, it’s only our deeds that set us apart.” - Iram
British Pakistani Islamic calligraphy artist Iram explores faith through material and form, moving from biomedical sciences and medical writing back into a self-taught practice rooted in Qur’anic reflection.
Her work centres Islamic calligraphy, clay, and earthy materials to reflect on creation and return. In Islam Through My Eyes, she presents a ceramic vase inscribed with Qur’anic verses on human creation from clay, using circular composition to echo the cycle of life, death, and return to the earth.
The work holds space between identity, faith, and lived experience, opening reflection on tawhid, humility, and what it means to create as a Muslim artist in the West.
