Tayyibah is a contemporary painter working primarily in watercolour on paper and canvas, her practice seeks a balance between realism and abstraction through restrained composition and reflective imagery. Grounded in her lived experiences and passion in knowledge, her work portrays a sense of awe by giving renewed meaning to Allah’s creation through visual references to the narratives of the Quran and Sunnah, inviting contemplation and remembrance.

She carefully assesses whether a subject may be represented within the boundaries of Islam, avoiding imagery that lacks sound evidence or does not serve reflection, and instead focusing on themes that revive overlooked knowledge and invite deeper understanding. Through a deliberate and time intensive process, she works primarily with watercolour for its softness and depth, selecting colours, tones, and compositions with ihsan to convey wisdom, awe, and the light inherent in this knowledge.

Her visual language balances realism and abstraction, where form is suggested rather than fully resolved. Muted white, vine like forms move softly along the edges of her paintings, resembling smoke and creating a sense of quiet transition and movement within the composition. A recurring palette of ultramarine and burnt sienna underpins her work, allowing tonal contrast, depth, and subtle movement to emerge without visual excess.

Alongside her studio practice, Tayyibah facilitates structured painting workshops and delivers reflective talks for community organisations and educational settings. Drawing from her experience as an Islamic fine artist and community facilitator, her sessions explore the relationship between art, faith, identity, and purpose, encouraging participants to approach creativity with intention and responsibility.

Her workshops combine clear step by step guidance with thoughtful discussion, allowing participants of varying skill levels to engage confidently with the creative process. Often developed in response to specific themes or programmes, these sessions translate meaningful ideas into accessible visual forms while creating space for reflection, learning, and engagement.
