"You don't need to give up your passion just because you think you're not going to get money from it, because that's passion, whether it's just a side thing. I want people to know that if it makes you happy, just go for it."

London-based creative practice Ukhti Arts was founded by Saamiya (b. 1997, London), whose engagement with drawing began in childhood and developed through school projects where art became a way to express identity and faith. Her practice centres on Arabic calligraphy, combining Islamic themes of patience and spiritual grounding with minimal compositions and deliberate use of colour and form.

In Islam Through My Eyes, she presents Sabrun Jameel: Beautiful Patience, a calligraphic work drawing on the phrase from Surah Yusuf and Surah Al-Ma'arij. Muted purples and gold detailing reflect quiet resilience and the dignity of enduring trials through reliance upon Allah.
