"Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveller." Sahih al-Bukhari 6416
Haneefah Usmani (b. 1997, Slough) is a British artist and Graphic Arts graduate working across Islamic geometry, pattern, and miniature painting. Her practice draws on Islamic architecture, nature, and the British countryside, combining traditional techniques with contemporary methods to explore faith as something woven into everyday experience.
In Islam Through My Eyes, she presents From Where I Stand, a gouache painting on Indian hemp paper combining geometric pattern, organic forms, and the landscape of where she grew up. The work is a personal response to the exhibition's theme, showing how faith is shaped by place, community, and the act of looking closely at the world around you.
