Kasim Tariq

Bradford-based artist and founder of Fayykunu, Kasim works across woodwork, pottery, and community teaching. His path moved through trade work, interior architecture and design at Coventry University, and back into Bradford where he established a studio rooted in local learning, making, and shared practice.

His work includes public sculpture in City Park (2023), reflecting migrant histories, the mills, and the layered identity of Bradford’s communities. Alongside this, his practice focuses on honest material use, exposed joinery, and natural finishes, drawing attention to structure, process, and care.

In Islam Through My Eyes, he presents furniture made using Mexican Parota wood, shaped with fine joinery and French polishing, influenced by low Japanese forms. The work reflects humility in scale and posture, and a return to grounded, intentional living through design.
